Ranger Communications once again sets the performance and reliability standard for entry level amateur mobile transceivers with the introduction of a cost effective, multi mode, high performance 6 meter transceiver.

Ranger brings you the RCI-5054DX-100. This DX model is patterned after the popular 10 & 12 meter RCI-2970DX. It features a microprocessor control, and is rated at 100W PEP SSB and 50W AM/FM/CW. Now you can upgrade your mobile Ham capabilities with a radio that is rich in features and at a reasonable cost.

This 6 meter mobile radio has retained the popular operating features of its predecessors, including programmable repeater offset (allowing splits of up to 2 Mhz, with Tx high or low) and capabilities for a CTCSS tone option — great for increasing repeater activity on 6 meters — plus receiver scanning for quick search of active frequencies. This unit offers three methods of frequency selection, non-volatile memory to store and scan up to ten favorite frequencies, and front panel frequency selector lockout.

For those field trip contests, DXpeditions, public safety activities, or group gatherings, the PA feature is just the answer to coordinating efforts with the group and getting everyone's attention.

In addition, the RCI-5054DX-100 offers an impressive array of design and performance improvements:

Frequency Limitations

The RCI-5054DX-100 was specifically designed for - and is limited to - the 50.000 to 54.000 MHz (6 meters) portion of the amateur band. It cannot be extended or modified to cover other frequencies outside this spectrum. This also means that the software will not allow operation on U.S. Army MARS frequencies of 49.7 to 49.95 MHz.

Base Station Application: For use of the RCI-5054DX in a base station application, a recommended power supply is the Astron RS-5A or equivalent. For use of the RCI-5054DX-100 in a base station application, a recommended power supply is the Astron RS-20A or equivalent.
CAUTION: Please be aware some "switching power supplies" can generate noise that will get into the receiver.
